Your Guide to Meeting Danny

"I see you've tasted blood, now you want more..."
-Rocky Horror Picture Show

You've stared at hundreds of pictures. You've rented every movie. You've watched every episode. There is only one thing left to make you obsession complete...you must see him in the flesh.

But where to start? This is your guide to seeing Danny in the flesh.

The only guaranteed place to see Danny is the seasonal Friday night tapings of "That 70's Show". So first, you should consider your location. T7S is taped in Studio City, California on the CBS Studio Center lot. If you live anywhere in Southern California, location isn't really a problem. However, if you're from out of state or out of town, you'll want to carefully plan ahead.

Next you will want to order tickets for a show taping. They can be ordered here, at TvTickets.com. You'll want to scroll to the bottom of the front page and click on the "That 70's Show" link. As of right now (April 2003), there are no available dates because the show is on hiatus. The filming season usually runs from about August--March, with the hiatus running from April--July/August.

Once you decide on a show date, you can click on the Order tickets link and fill out the order form. These tickets are free, and the instructions for printing them out are on the page.

When the day of the show comes, leave early. No matter where you are coming from, unless you live in Studio City itself, you need to give an extra hour or two for LA traffic. The studio begins letting in the audience between 6 and 6:30 pm, but you should be there at least 45 minutes early to insure a spot. Also, the website says that you have to be 18 years old to get in. If you are a teenager under 18, you probably shouldn't have trouble getting in as long as you're with an adult. And if you are younger than 18, wear clothes and/or make-up to make yourself look older, just in case. I've been going to tapings since I was 13 years old, and I haven't been denied yet. As long as there aren't any 5 yr. olds, there is a good chance that you won't have a problem. However, always be prepared.

During the taping, there is a guy who hypes up the audience in between takes. Suck up to him; he gives out scripts, glossy pics, and other T7S memorabilia.

At the end of the taping, there is usually an oppurtunity to get the autographs of the cast. Be quick--you'll need to rush to the front to get a good spot on the edge of the seating to get everyone's autograph in time. Also, in the several tapings I've been to, Topher has never signed autographs. A couple people might occasionally sneak one or two in, but for the most part he either leaves or stands back away from everyone else.

When you talk to the cast members, always be polite and friendly. Danny is one of the most friendly actors on the cast, so feel free to talk to him and ask questions. However, be aware that there are others vying for his attention as well, so don't Danny-hog. I'm sure that you will find meeting him a very pleasant experience.

As a last note, feel free to ask Ashton or Danny for hugs. I've seen them both hug on request, because they're nice like that. And sometimes Kurtwood signs people's things with "Dumbass", hehe. Hopefully this guide helped you a bit with your quest to seek Danny manflesh. Thank you, and come again!
